The same-named\u00a0Italian dish\u00a0is made of stacked layers of lasagna alternating with fillings such as\u00a0rag\u00f9\u00a0(ground meats and tomato sauce),\u00a0b\u00e9chamel sauce, vegetables, cheeses (which may include\u00a0ricotta,\u00a0mozzarella\u00a0and\u00a0Parmesan), and seasonings and spices. The dish may be topped with grated cheese, which becomes melted during baking. Typically cooked pasta is assembled with the other ingredients and then\u00a0baked in an oven\u00a0(<em>al forno<\/em>).
